The Tindersticks played the Pavillion stage in the early evening, I thought they were good but maybe they would have been better in a slightly more intimate venue. They played “Marbles” which is one of my favourites but at times there sound seemed to be a little lost in the cavernous space of the Pavillion.
Special mention ought to go out to Oneida who performed a 10 hour jam throughout the entire day. We would dip in and out of it through the course of the day. Towards the end of the evening it was like gatecrashing some esoteric ritual, the guys on stage appeared to be in their own world, the different instruments fading in and out of prominance, the lines slowly shifting and mutating into new forms. The trance like atmosphere was enhanced by the tie dyed visual projections and gently billowing sheets enclosing the audience area.
